Food and Dairy:

Here are some ways we can assist you.  Developing process efficiency improvements and upgrades for specific plant processes.  Creating costs savings by producing new saleable by-products.  Save money on shipping costs by concentrating fluids.  MP&C Inc. has been helping the Food and Dairy Industry since 1992.

  • Pretreatment of process fluids
  • Water reduction for processing
  • Capturing, retaining process by-products
  • Assistance developing new products from waste streams
  • Concentration of products
  • Increasing concentration of products to reduce shipping costs and making products more profitable
  • Separation of Use able Products from waste stream
  • Recovery of water from waste streams for reuse in plant processes
  • Concentration of solids for increased permeate for liquidation
  • Recovery and concentration of useful proteins

In today's world of food processing small companies as well as large plants are looking at ways to decrease production costs, minimize wastes and develop by-products from process streams.  The needs and goals vary with in different processing plants.  MP&C enjoys working with the honest people we find within the various food industrys.  We value and honor confidentiality with our friends in the food industry.  If you have any questions about whether we could help you in some way, please contact us.

Dairy:

MP&C has been a leader in the development and implimentation of membrane filtration systems for the Dairy and Whey Processing Industrys.  Today milk can be concentrated after the intake using a UF or MF to increase cheese vat production.  Whey which was once a useless by-product of cheese making fit only for field spreading as a fertilizer, currently has many uses in today's cheese making process, along with being used world wide as a nutritional food supplement.  Using Reverse Osmosis systems in the whey process allows us to recover thousands of pounds of water to be used with in the CIP process at various plants and factories.  Utilizing the the water in this way allows companies to save water utility costs by recycling the water romoved while processing the whey.  This alone has saved and preserved huge amounts of city and private well water.  WPC is used as a food and nutritional supplement, it is created by highly concentrating the proties within the whey stream.  One other useful product but not the last is Lactose.  When processed properly lactose can be sold to pharmaceutical companies to be used as a fill for their drugs. (lactose is milk sugar and is used as a fill to take the bitter taste out of  the many types of pain relievers and drugs taken in our society today)  Our knowledge is extensive on the processing of Whey.

Spiral Membrane Technology for the Food & Dairy Industry

Developing Solutions for the Future

As the Food and Dairy Industry enters the age of global competition, processing plants are faced with increased regulations.  Many of the traditional methods of wastewater treatments such as evaporation reservoirs and holding tanks are no longer financially feasible or environmentally sound.  There is a need to improve quality while still remaining cost efficient. Membrane Process & Controls offers a solution to this challenge.

Spiral Membrane Technology the Economical Solution

Spiral Membranes were developed by Osmonics and sold by various Manufacture’s throughout the world.  Membrane technology offers an economical solution for the treatment of food and dairy process streams.  Membrane technology adds value to process streams by recovering valuable resources and reducing plant effluent.
